Sponsored By: Representative Frankel, Lois [D-FL-22]

Introduced

Summary

Highlights proven steps to prevent falls among older adults. The resolution would designate Sept. 21–25, 2026 as National Falls Prevention Awareness Week, cite CDC data showing about 14 million falls a year among adults 65+, roughly 3.2 million emergency visits, and about 44,000 deaths, note roughly $80.0 billion in annual direct medical costs, and encourage evidence-based actions like exercise, medication review, vision care, and reducing home hazards.
