Keep CFPB in-person debt rules
If enacted, this resolution would disapprove the CFPB rule that withdrew Bulletin 2015-07. It would say the withdrawal "shall have no force or effect." That would keep CFPB guidance on in-person debt collection from December 16, 2015, in place. The disapproved rule is listed at 90 Fed. Reg. 20084 (May 12, 2025). Consumers facing in-person debt collectors and the companies that collect debt would be most affected.
