Keep medical debt protections for consumers
If enacted, this joint resolution would stop the CFPB rule that withdrew Bulletin 2022-01. You would keep the consumer protections and credit-reporting guidance from Bulletin 2022-01 (87 Fed. Reg. 3025, Jan 20, 2022). It would nullify the CFPB's May 12, 2025 withdrawal rule (90 Fed. Reg. 20084). The change would take effect upon enactment.
