Keep CFPB dispute investigation rules
This resolution would disapprove the CFPB rule that sought to withdraw Consumer Financial Protection Circular 2022-07. It would state that the withdrawal rule published at 90 Fed. Reg. 20084 (May 12, 2025) has no force or effect. If enacted, Circular 2022-07 (87 Fed. Reg. 71507 (Nov. 23, 2022)) would remain in place. Consumers who dispute credit reports would keep the Circular's investigation standards, and reporting agencies and furnishers would remain subject to those standards.
