Peptide therapy review for veterans
If enacted, the bill would require VA to review its rules and define "peptide" and "peptide-based therapy". VA would send a report to Congress within 180 days after enactment. When that report is submitted, VA would start a study of peptide therapy safety, effectiveness, and possible uses and finish the study within 18 months. If the study recommends offering peptide therapies, VA would run a pilot for volunteer veterans and could limit it by location or clinical criteria. The pilot must end within five years and VA would report results and guidance to Congress.
