Adult children covered until age 31
This bill would raise the maximum age for required dependent coverage from 26 to 31. If enacted, group health plans and health insurance companies subject to the federal dependent-coverage rule would have to allow enrollees to keep adult children on their plan until age 31. The change would apply to plan years beginning after December 31, 2026. Households with adult children ages 27 to 31 would be able to remain covered under a parent's plan starting in those plan years.
