Show full summary
- Shoshone‑Paiute Tribes: Would receive a $9 million annual base payment for the Development Fund and could get additional payments through 2027–2033 equal to the interest that would have accrued on certain fund balances from enactment through January 25, 2016.
- Department of the Interior and the Secretary: Would be allowed to derive those interest-equivalent payments from amounts otherwise available for Indian water-rights settlements, but only to the extent advance appropriations authorize it.
- Payment rules and oversight: Would require daily-compounded, liquid-investment interest calculations and ties the calculation and governance to existing Indian trust fund statutes from 1938 and 1994.
