Anaktuvuk Pass Food Security Access Act

Sponsored By: Representative Begich, Nicholas J. [R-AK-At Large]

Introduced

Summary

Authorizes subsistence off-road vehicle use by Anaktuvuk Pass residents. The bill would allow local residents to use snowmobiles, motorboats, all-terrain vehicles, utility terrain vehicles, tracked utility vehicles, and similar off-road vehicles for subsistence within Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. It makes those subsistence uses lawful notwithstanding other provisions of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act and excludes Section 811 from applying to these uses.
