Tax data access for SBA loans
If enacted, this bill would let the Treasury share your tax return information with Small Business Administration officers and employees when the SBA Administrator makes a written request. This would apply only to applicants for an SBA 7(b) disaster loan. SBA staff would be allowed to use the tax data only to determine your loan eligibility and only to the extent necessary. Disclosures would apply to information shared after the date of enactment. This would likely speed eligibility checks but would also let more SBA staff see tax returns and raise privacy concerns.
