DORIE Act of 2026

Sponsored By: Representative Dingell, Debbie [D-MI-6]

Introduced

Summary

Prevents the Department of Defense from naming or renaming assets after a sitting President and forces reversal of recent such name changes. This bill would add a new section to Title 10 that forbids naming, renaming, designating, or redesignating any DoD facility, aircraft, vessel, or other asset in the name of a sitting President and forbids using DoD funds to carry out those naming actions. It would also require any DoD asset that, on the enactment date, bears the name of the sitting President to be restored to the name it had immediately before.
