Veteran Breast Cancer Fairness Act
Sponsored By: Representative Larsen, Rick [D-WA-2]
Introduced
Summary
Adds male breast cancer to the VA's presumption of service-connection for disability compensation. The bill would insert 'including male breast cancer' into 38 U.S.C. 1120(b)(2)(E), placing male breast cancer on the statutory list of conditions presumed to be service-connected. Male veterans diagnosed with breast cancer would be evaluated under that existing presumption when applying for Department of Veterans Affairs disability benefits.

Easier VA claims for male breast cancer
If enacted, the bill would add male breast cancer to a VA presumption that a condition is service-connected. Male veterans with breast cancer would be able to use that presumption when seeking VA disability compensation. It would not guarantee an award or set a compensation amount, and the text does not specify an effective date.
