No separate payment code for gun stores

If enacted, banks, card networks, and payment processors would be barred from using a merchant code that singles out gun or ammo sellers. It would apply to any company that helps authorize, clear, or settle credit card transactions, including issuers and acquirers. Gun and ammo stores would not be separately identified by card codes. Payment firms would need to change how they label and monitor these merchants. The bill text does not specify an effective date.
