Ban on Delta water tunnel permit
If enacted, this bill would bar the Army Corps from issuing a Clean Water Act section 404 wetlands permit for the Delta Conveyance Project named in a December 2022 draft environmental impact statement. It would take effect upon enactment. Without this permit, the project could be delayed or stopped. Water agencies, contractors, businesses, and some workers in the region could lose expected water deliveries, contracts, or jobs. It could also protect wetlands and local habitats.
