Sponsored By: Representative Cammack, Kat [R-FL-3]
Introduced
Summary
Prohibits federal funding for National Public Radio (NPR). The bill would bar any federal funds, directly or indirectly, from being used to support NPR or any successor organization. That includes paying dues to NPR and buying NPR programming with federal dollars at public broadcast stations. It would add a new subsection (m) to Section 396 of the Communications Act of 1934 and remove NPR references from sections 396(k) and 398(b)(1) to prevent indirect funding.
