Health coverage for removed federal workers
If enacted, some former federal workers could keep or join the federal employee health plan. You would qualify only if you were involuntarily removed between January 20, 2025 and January 1, 2026 and meet one of these: removed without cause; last review at least fully successful; pregnant at removal; or had a cancer diagnosis within the prior five years. You would need to elect coverage to use this option. Both the government share and your premiums would be paid from any federal savings found by a government efficiency service named in a January 20, 2025 executive order. The bill does not set premium amounts or how savings are measured.
