Online portal for communications permits

If enacted, Interior and Agriculture would each create an online portal within 1 year. Each portal would accept, process, and complete Form 299 applications. These are permits to place or modify communications facilities on public lands and in national forests. Within 3 business days after a portal goes live, the department would notify the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information. The Assistant Secretary would post a link to each portal on the NTIA website. This would make it easier for internet and phone providers, towns, and small businesses to apply.
