More home care options for veterans
If enacted, the VA Community Care Program would be able to use nurse registries. Veterans could get help at home or in support of care facilities from registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, home health aides, companions, and homemakers who work through a registry. A nurse registry means an entity that arranges contracts for these workers so they can provide services and be paid. Registries would need to meet any state licensure rules. This would take effect when enacted.
