Study on moving federal agencies

If enacted, this would create a Commission to study moving non-security federal agencies out of the Washington, D.C. area. The President would decide which agencies are security-related and excluded. Senior officials from OMB, OPM, GAO, many Cabinet departments, EPA, and FDA would serve. The Commission would report to Congress within 1 year of enactment. It would weigh cost of living, local infrastructure and private land, related local industries, and whether many staff teleworked in the last 5 years. The D.C. metro area would mean D.C.; Montgomery and Prince George’s (MD); and Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, and Alexandria (VA).
