Visa loss for foreign students backing terror groups
Colleges and universities would have to report right away when an F-1 or J-1 student backs or endorses a listed foreign terrorist group. They would report it to the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). If the State Department confirms the support, the student’s visa would be revoked. Homeland Security would then start removal (deportation) proceedings. This would apply to approved schools that take part in the student visa program.
