Show full summary
- Commission staff and planners would get more time to finish planning, siting, and authorization, with the extension dated as if effective on December 1, 2025 and running to 2032.
- The memorial's site must be within the area shown on the commission's February 25, 2025 map, and if that location is unsuitable the memorial may be sited within the Reserve defined in Title 40.
- It would change commemorative-work rules by inserting a nondiscretionary proviso that overrides parts of Title 40's standard constraints and by updating the statutory year from 2025 to 2032.

More time and site flexibility for Adams Memorial
If enacted, this would extend the Adams Memorial Commission’s authority through 2032. The extension would be treated as if it took effect on December 1, 2025. It would set where the memorial can go: first in the area shown on the Commission’s map labeled “Adams Memorial: Eligible Additional Area,” dated February 25, 2025. If that spot is not suitable or safe due to physical or security limits, the memorial would instead be placed inside the Reserve. It would also allow an exception to a usual siting ban in the Reserve, repeal two earlier sections of law, and add clear definitions to match the new site rules.
