Tax credit for mobility devices

This bill would create a nonrefundable tax credit for mobility devices. You could claim 50% of what you pay, for up to three devices per year. Covered items would include wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, canes, braces, prosthetic arms or legs, and features or upgrades to these devices. Nonrefundable means it could lower your tax to zero, but would not pay a refund. If you also use the same expense for another deduction or credit, that other tax break would be reduced. It would apply only to amounts you pay after the law is enacted.
