Sponsored By: Representative Neguse, Joe [D-CO-2]
Introduced
Summary
Reduce workplace violence by directing a NIOSH study and requiring OSHA to issue voluntary, workplace-specific guidance that recommends engineering controls, staffing and training to lower threats across many settings. The guidance would be nonbinding and informed by a NIOSH report to ensure recommendations fit different workplaces.

The bill would define workplace violence and threats, exclude lawful self-defense, and add no new penalties.
