New staffing rules for agencies and military
If enacted, federal agencies and military departments would be required to keep enough staff under federal job classes. If a leader decides the agency cannot meet these staffing levels, they would have to tell Congress within seven days and explain why. The notice would go to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees and the committees that oversee that agency. The government of the District of Columbia would not be covered. This could improve oversight and service quality for the public.
