EITC for Older Workers Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Carey, Mike [R-OH-15]
Introduced
Summary
Removes the age cap for the Earned Income Tax Credit. The EITC for Older Workers Act of 2025 would repeal the rule that bars people age 65 and older from claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit, so older workers who meet the existing income and filing rules could qualify. It amends Internal Revenue Code section 32(c)(1)(A)(ii) by striking the phrase "but not attained age 65". The change would apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025.
