SNAP SECURE Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Green, Al [D-TX-9]
Introduced
Summary
Extends funding authority for SNAP benefit replacement through fiscal year 2034. This bill would be titled the "SNAP SECURE Act of 2025" and would amend 7 U.S.C. 2016a(b)(2)(C) by striking the year 2024 and inserting 2034. The change would lengthen the statutory window to reimburse victims of theft of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and does so through the existing replacement program and funding framework without changing eligibility or benefit rules.

Extend SNAP theft reimbursement to 2034
This bill would keep federal payback for stolen SNAP benefits going through 2034. If your SNAP funds were stolen, you could still ask your state for a replacement and the state could seek federal reimbursement. It would not change who qualifies for SNAP or how much you get. It would only extend the time that reimbursement is allowed.
