Expand and rename Camp Nelson Monument

If enacted, the Interior Department could acquire about 132 acres shown on map no. 532/174,965 dated April 29, 2025, near Nicholasville, KY, to add to Camp Nelson National Monument. The Secretary could buy land or interests in land, at their discretion. If you own land in the mapped area, the government could offer to buy your land or an easement. Visitors could see more public access and federal management if land is added. The bill would also rename “Camp Nelson Heritage National Monument” to “Camp Nelson National Monument,” and old references would count as the new name.
