Agencies barred from social cost metrics

This bill would stop federal agencies from using “social cost” estimates of carbon, methane, nitrous oxide, or other greenhouse gases. Agencies would not be allowed to use these numbers in cost-benefit analyses under any law or under Executive Orders 12866 or 13563. They also could not use them in rulemaking, guidance, other actions, or as justification. If passed, this could change how energy and environmental rules are written and reviewed.
