Stronger enforcement of foreign agent registration
This bill would tighten and extend enforcement of the foreign agent registration law. The Attorney General could ask a court to order compliance. This could happen while someone acts as an agent or any time later. Courts could order fixes for past periods when a person acted, even if the person has stopped. These rules would cover anyone who acted as a foreign agent in the five years before enactment, on enactment, or after. DOJ would also report to Congress each year on these actions, naming who, why, and the status.
