Tax credit for U.S. hardwood home upgrades
If passed, you could claim a federal tax credit for certain U.S.-grown wood products installed in your main home. This would be under the existing energy efficient home improvement credit. Eligible items would include flooring, paneling, millwork, cabinet doors or facing, windows, and skylights. The products must be made from deciduous trees grown and processed in the United States. They must be new, first used by you, installed in a U.S. home you own and live in, and expected to last at least 5 years. The credit would apply to property placed in service after enactment and would be available through 2035.
