Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 2 costs, 1 mixed.

Discharge and no repayment of benefits

If enacted, the services would have to administratively discharge members barred under this bill. If you are separated only for this reason, you would not have to repay education or other benefits tied to leaving early. You also would not have to finish any remaining service obligation. This would take effect upon enactment.

Clearance recheck or revocation after discharge

If enacted, DoD would recheck security clearance eligibility for people discharged under this bill who had classified access at separation. If you do not work in a job that needs a clearance after leaving, or you refuse the recheck, your eligibility could be revoked. This would take effect upon enactment.

Limits on military service for gender dysphoria

If enacted, people would be barred from serving if they have or had gender dysphoria, show its symptoms, or had gender-affirming care like hormones or surgery. This would apply to joining or continuing service. The rule would take effect upon enactment.
