Farm aid for unborn livestock losses
If enacted, eligible producers would get an extra Livestock Indemnity Program payment when unborn livestock die from a listed condition. Losses would have to be above normal mortality and occur on or after January 1, 2025. USDA, through the Farm Service Agency, would set the rate, capped at 85% of the lowest weight-class rate. Your payout would use category multipliers: ×1 for categories A, B, F; ×2 for D; ×12 for E; and the average births per gestation for G. Unborn losses means animals that were gestating at death in those categories.
