Temporary Stafford loans for grad students
If enacted, the Education Department would again be able to offer Federal Direct Stafford Loans to graduate and professional students. This authority would start once the bill becomes law and would end on or before June 30, 2025. Eligible grad students could borrow Stafford loans during that window. The Department could restart these loans without going through some usual Higher Education Act rulemaking steps.
