Review of cattle fever program for producers
This bill would require the Agriculture Secretary to offer within one year to hire a university to review the Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program. The review would evaluate how well the program prevents tick-borne illness, the benefits to cattle producers, and the burden of compliance. It would also review treatment protocols and federal and state funding for the most recent fiscal year, including funds for each research project. Within one year after the contract starts, the Secretary would send a report with findings and recommendations, including ways to reduce compliance burden on cattle producers, to the House and Senate Agriculture Committees.
