More support to fight vector-borne diseases
If enacted, this would extend federal efforts on tick and other vector-borne diseases through 2026–2030. State and local health departments would keep enhanced support during 2026–2030. The program would be able to increase capacity to identify, report, prevent, and respond to these diseases during the authorization window, before 2030. It would also broaden who can take part by using “appropriate individuals” instead of a named working group. Changes would take effect upon enactment. This would not provide direct payments to households but could improve public health response.
