Introduced
Summary
Award a Congressional Gold Medal to seven Americans who led rescue operations during the 2021 Afghanistan evacuation. The Save our Allies Congressional Gold Medal Act would authorize a single gold medal for Chad Robichaux, Sarah Verardo, Tim Kennedy, Kevin Roarke, Sean Gabler, Dave Johnson, and Dennis Price for actions that helped evacuate more than 17,000 people, set rules for the medal's design and Smithsonian display, allow the U.S. Mint to strike and sell bronze duplicates, and permit use of the Mint Public Enterprise Fund to cover production costs.

Collectors could buy bronze medal copies
If enacted, the U.S. Mint could make and sell bronze copies of the gold medal in this bill. The sale price would have to cover all production costs, including labor, materials, dies, machine time, and overhead. Money from those sales would go into the Mint’s Public Enterprise Fund, which could also be used to pay the medals’ production costs. The medals would be treated as national, collectible items, guiding how the Mint handles and sells them. These changes would start when the bill takes effect.
