Enduring Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act
Sponsored By: Representative Lee, Laurel M. [R-FL-15]
Introduced
Summary
Makes permanent a $5,000 mandatory court assessment on non-indigent people or entities convicted under the federal trafficking offenses listed in 18 U.S.C. §3014(a). This bill would remove the current sunset and require courts to impose this additional $5,000 on top of the existing assessment under 18 U.S.C. §3013. It retains the requirement that the defendant be non-indigent and does not create any new funding allocations or extra enforcement procedures in the statutory text.
