More Customs info-sharing on counterfeit goods

This bill would let U.S. Customs share more nonpublic information when it has a reasonable suspicion of an intellectual property violation. Customs would be able to share images and details about the goods, their packaging, packing materials, containers, and labels. It would also let Customs share information it gets from online marketplaces, express shippers, freight forwarders, and other platforms involved in selling or importing goods. Customs would be allowed to send this information to any party with an interest in the goods, if the Commissioner decides it is appropriate. When marketplace or carrier information is shared, the person whose information was sent would get a notice under Treasury rules. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
