Flight delay alerts for travelers

If enacted, covered airlines would have to text or email every passenger when a flight is delayed 15 minutes or more. A delay includes a late departure or a taxi delay, on domestic or international flights. They would send updates at least every 15 minutes until the delay ends. Each message would include the new estimated departure and arrival times, plus a way to opt out of more alerts for that flight. This would take effect upon enactment if the bill becomes law.
