Health checks and registry for unsafe military housing
If enacted, the Defense Department would run health screening at all military medical treatment facilities for people affected by unsafe housing. You would qualify only if you are a service member or a family member who lived in unsafe housing and have a health problem the department links to that housing. Unsafe housing means a home that fails federal housing quality rules or has dangerous mold air pollution. Screening results could let eligible people join a new registry that tracks health and links to housing conditions. The department would also run a public campaign on how to register and why it helps. This would start upon enactment.
