Repeals federal train crew size rule
If enacted, this bill would cancel the FRA’s final rule on train crew size (published April 9, 2024; 89 Fed. Reg. 25052). Rail companies would no longer need to follow that specific rule, and could set crew size under other existing laws. Train crews and unions could see changes in staffing and safety practices. Communities along rail lines might see safety effects. The change would take effect upon enactment.
