Bipartisan Premium Tax Credit Extension Act

Sponsored By: Representative Kiggans, Jennifer A. [R-VA-2]

Introduced

Summary

Extends enhanced premium tax credits through 2026. The bill would extend the higher premium assistance amounts and keep the rule that allows taxpayers with household incomes above 400 percent of the poverty line to claim the premium tax credit through 2026. It amends section 36B deadlines so the changes apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025. In short, it would preserve larger marketplace subsidies and expanded eligibility for the 2026 tax year.
