Extend clean vehicle access to carpool lanes

This bill would extend the special rule that lets qualifying low‑emission or energy‑efficient vehicles use HOV (carpool) lanes until December 31, 2026. If your state allows these exemptions, you could keep using the carpool lane without the usual number of passengers. State transportation agencies would keep operating these lanes under the current rule. The Transportation Secretary would also need to report to Congress within 180 days on whether electric-vehicle exemptions reduce traffic congestion.
