New business bans for President and VP
The President and Vice President would be barred from owning financial interests in for‑profit companies and would have 30 days after taking office to sell and convert them to cash. They could not serve as officers or board members of for‑profit firms. They, their spouse, and dependent children would not be able to use or allow use of the President’s or Vice President’s name or image for profit. Retirement accounts would be exempt. If a tangible gift over minimal value is deposited with an agency for official use tied to Presidential duties, it could not be used and the agency would have to dispose of it. Violations would face civil penalties.
Top officials file twice-yearly reports
Starting in 2026, certain federal officers and employees would file two financial reports each year. You would need to file if you served more than 60 days in January–June or July–December. The January–June report would be due by October 15 of that year. The July–December report would be due by May 15 of the next year. Each report would cover only that six‑month period. The President, Vice President, and Cabinet members would also list set financial items for relatives, including parents, children, siblings, in‑laws, and step or half siblings.
