Introduced
Summary
Prohibits certain foreign gifts to colleges and universities. - The bill ties national security definitions from federal law into higher education funding rules by using the legal meaning of "material support" and the definition of a foreign terrorist organization.

Ban on some foreign gifts to colleges
Colleges that get federal higher-ed funds would face new limits on foreign gifts. They could not accept gifts from China, Russia, North Korea, or Iran. They also could not accept gifts from any country that, as of enactment, has given material support to a foreign terrorist group, as determined by the State Department. This would start on the date the bill is enacted. To stay eligible for federal higher-ed funds, colleges would need to report each time they are offered a gift from those countries.
