Grants and scholarships for medical students

This bill would create a federal grant program for public colleges that train medical students in states with top‑quartile projected primary care shortages. Priority would go to schools in states with at least two Indian Tribes and with qualifying partnerships. Grants could last up to 5 years and must be at least $1,000,000 per year; a non‑Federal match up to 10% could be required. Money could fund community and primary care training, faculty capacity, partnerships, recruitment and retention, residency prep, follow‑up, instructor support, and student scholarships. It would authorize $75 million each year for 2026–2028.
