EPA and Agriculture coordinate pesticide rules

If enacted, the bill would require the EPA Administrator to work with the Secretary of Agriculture when registering or reviewing pesticides. The Administrator would have to get agronomic use data from the Department of Agriculture and industry, and consider information on availability and economic viability of alternatives. If any risk mitigation measures are required, the Administrator would develop them with Agriculture and publish an economic analysis estimating implementation costs to growers, State lead agencies, and others, and assessing mitigation's effect on reducing user risk. For Endangered Species Act section 7 measures, EPA would coordinate with Agriculture, Interior, and Commerce to review options and give feedback. The agencies could waive or modify coordination for a specific action if EPA, Agriculture, and the registrant agree, and that agreement would be published in the public docket.
