Extra standards for immigration detention facilities
If enacted, DHS would have to add U.S. Marshals Service detention standards to its immigration detention contracts. Starting on the date of enactment, any new or renewed contract would include these standards, on top of current rules. This would apply to facilities that hold people under U.S. immigration laws. The bill does not include new funding, exemptions, or an end date.
