Lifetime cap for GI Bill tuition
This bill would set a lifetime cap on how much the VA pays for tuition and fees for certain flight training and related public-school programs. If you first start a covered program in the academic year beginning August 1, 2026, the cap would be $119,684. For later academic years the cap would rise each year by the most recent percentage increase under section 3015(h). The cap would apply across all covered programs, be reduced by any Post-9/11 entitlement you already used, and be prorated if you attend less than full time. A "covered program" would mean flight training at public colleges that leads to a degree or certificate, or a public college program that contracts with a non-public entity to provide part or all of the program.
