Pechanga trust land for open space

If enacted, about 860 acres in Riverside County would be taken into trust for the Pechanga Band of Indians. The land would become part of the Tribe’s reservation and be managed like other federal trust land. It would have to stay as open space to protect cultural, archaeological, and wildlife resources. Utilities or structures would be allowed only if they support that protection and keep the area as open space. Class II and Class III gaming would be banned on this land. All existing easements, leases, permits, and other valid rights would remain in place. Existing water rights and service agreements would not change. A map titled 'BLM Lands into Trust for the Pechanga Band of Indians,' dated August 21, 2025, would be on file for public inspection at Bureau of Land Management offices.
