New reporting rules for reactor cleanup funds
Power reactor licensees that use a decommissioning trust fund would face new reporting rules. In each financial assurance status report, they would have to list any interest earned by the fund. They would also report the fund’s projected annual rate of return. They would provide a detailed list of withdrawals and what each paid for during decommissioning. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission would revise its rules (10 C.F.R. 50.82) to require this.
